On Sunday I head to the garden to sit in the sun. No agenda, no list, just space to open my heart in the quiet zone.

Time to notice anemones I'd rescued from the deer doubled in size. Space to see deep verdant greens and pinks recovered from hot sun under the shady oaks. The question of what to plant that can thrive in hot dry summer pops to mind - alongside bright pinks and whimsical tangerine cosmos. Darting together, interweaving themselves between yesterday's painting and a momentary recall, in a parking lot two weeks ago, amidst cosmos in full bloom!!!
I stood there mezmerized. I can plant them now? Really, there's still time in zone 7?
Seed to blossom in 60 days . . . I just ordered a whole pound of cosmos seeds in every color imaginable to plant this week!

Three paintings already started on the easel, you saw them last week's video: The Quiet Zone. Now I'm seeing/seeding the cosmos garden, not next year, right here and NOW! Late bloomers flourishing here for an autumn harvest, rich with symbolism and transformational energy.
