Hi, I'm Dorothy Fagan. I'm cultivating a meadow of cosmos beside my studio because I believe that cultivating wildflowers alongside a new collection of mixed media paintings will open a portal for deeper spiritual connection and healing through my heart. 

I've been painting this way — in collaboration with nature — for decades, and now I'm opening my creative process here, so you can cultivate your own garden of spirituality and wellness with art.

Day 26 of 60

"I paint the way I garden—with a big trowel. When I dig in the garden, I’m connecting with the earth, feeling the grittiness of Mother Earth... this is all about presence — having mastery of your presence because your divine presence walks with you."

AUGUST 26

The cosmos seedlings are standing on their own. Multiple leaves have emerged in the garden and in the studio as well. So many paintings in fact, I hardly know where to start. 

AUGUST 19

Aaaahhhhhh! In the last two days, my studio has exploded with textile collage cosmos from intricately drawn seeds and stalks to blossoming cosmic landscapes. If I thought this was about painting a few calm cosmos flower paintings, I was wrong!!!

AUGUST 12

The eclipse is happening! The Lions Gate is opening and sprouting cosmos are getting a second pair of leaves. Today I am photographing the first few cosmos textile collages, so excited to show them to you!

AUGUST 4

Raining again today, yea! 3 big colorful paintings on the easels, 3 vibrant orange and pink textured textile collages drying in the window, 4 hot pink and teal mixed media smalls on the table waiting for me.

AUGUST 2 

Watering, watering, praying for rain!

AUGUST 1

Seeds broadcast in the meadow, beside the studio and across the pond — first sprouts expected within two weeks. Collaging textiles into wet paint.

JULY 27 — Ordered a pound of cosmos seed to broadcast in the meadow beside my studio, and across the pond. Everything here is symbolic — the planting, the painting, cultivating the essence of our creative hearts through this crop of late-season bloomers. 

JULY 25 

Goddess Portals open shifting color resonance, as it moves from sunset through a portal of light – a new portal opens the wildflower meadow of the heart!
