Truth be told, I haven't been painting this past week. I've been so fucused on writing The Watershed, I'd almost lost track of the Cosmos Heart project. It's important though, to go with the flow of what one's receiving. I woke the other morning with the Oyster & Pearl story, showing me how we are embedded in the grit of life, filtering all the flow that washes over us. And then I saw the pearls alongside my belief that we all have pearls hidden within us.
That's what Cosmos Heart is all about - blossoming the universe within us.
I started this pair a couple years ago, thinking I could plot my blessings out and they would bloom on schedule. Wrong! I thought I was planting a rose garden, Promise Me a Rose Garden, I called it. What I was thinking silently, You Promised Me a Rose Garden, so where is it?
There in the unspoken seed, the paintings lay fallow. Then suddenly I saw them against the cosmos, grabbed my big trowel size palette knife, a jar of fiber medium, and more hot pink silk blossoms.
This time the seedlings sprouted not as plotted roses, as wildflowers in the meadow of life, radiant in their own beauty. I LOVE them!!!
